Boreal Bliss Scholarship Foundation
As part of our ongoing commitment to equity and inclusion in the yoga space, we offer scholarships to our yoga retreats, events, workshops, and classes. We prioritize Black, Indigenous, people of color (BIPOC).
We offer scholarships to BIPOC individuals because we recognize the collective trauma of hate crimes committed against people of color, systemic racism, generational inequality, and the ongoing struggle with racism in America causes chronic stress, which results in ongoing mental, emotional, and physical health issues. The stress of dealing with constant adversity, on top of everyday life, makes it difficult for many to seek out holistic preventative healthcare through such restorative practices as time in nature, breathwork, yoga, rest, and relaxation.
Our retreats are inclusive and create a welcoming space for people to rediscover nature, learn more about the beneficial practice of yoga and tools to manage stress, and an opportunity to connect to other like-minded individuals. We believe that creating inclusive, safe spaces, for individuals to heal is critical to the difficult work of dismantling racism and building a more equitable future.
We work carefully to make sure our retreats feel emotionally and culturally safe for all individuals.
We’ve been building our scholarship for the past six years. In 2023, we realized we needed to establish a 501c3 in order to create a more sustainable path moving forward, and to allow us to expand our scholarship opportunities.
We passionately believe that time spent in nature is healing, empowering, and restorative. We believe in teaching individuals simple practices like breathwork, movement, mindfulness, creative writing, and meditation that can have long-term benefits on their health and wellness.
