50 Years of Deep Portage Learning Center
6 years ago, February 2017, we hosted our first ever yoga retreat nestled in the woods at Deep Portage Learning Center in Hackensack, MN. Before that, Bryana’s husband Dan Ryan worked at Deep Portage Learning Center as an environmental educator. Bryana and Dan met lifelong friends and have enjoyed this gem of the north woods for many years. We bring our kids out to Deep Portage several times a year and feel so fortunate that this legendary resource is in our community.
We (as in Boreal Bliss) love Deep Portage. And in return, Deep Portage loves us. They sent us an email recently and said, “Boreal Bliss has become a "mainstay" in our calendar and it's wonderful!” So of course we wanted to share a couple ways to support this incredible Minnesotan treasure.
The Great Hall fireplace is a thing of beauty in and of itself.
We still love to retreat at Deep Portage. Many returning retreaters site this location as their favorite venue.
The sunrise “tower hike” is always a favorite, no matter the season.
Retreating in the fall and winter since 2017! We actually haven’t returned for the fall in a number of years and we can’t wait to do so this October!
Deep Portage is celebrating 50 years!
