Thanks for following along! Here's a look at what's in the hopper...

Hi Omies!

We made it through the longest month, January! We hope you are finding some Vitamin D and fresh air despite the cold MN winter! Bryana, Joella, and Stacy just wrapped up a lovely retreat focused on aligning the chakras at Deep Portage. I (Amanda) am patiently awaiting the arrival of baby boy or baby girl and cannot wait to meet him or her! I am 37+ weeks and feeling happy and thankful! Stacy completed her 200 RYT in Mexico at the end of summer and Joella just embarked on her 500 RYT. Bryana is busy with baby Graham, now five months old with lots to say and is eager to get on the move.

As we’ve grown and settled into our fourth year hosting retreats, we decided to try out some new things this year. A big change is that we decided not to go back to Wolf Ridge in 2020, though we do so love it there! We decided to “scratch the itch” to try some new things and it has been energizing for all of us.

While we can’t spill the beans yet, we have some exciting plans for 2021too!

What is most important to me from a retreat experience? Am I seeking…

  • Outdoor adventures like xc skiing, snow shoeing, paddling the boundary waters, rock climbing (indoors/outdoors), high ropes courses, and hiking?

  • A more luxurious experience with a queen-size bed and private room, or am I comfortable sleeping on a twin-size bed on the bottom bunk?

  • Am I comfortable eating cafeteria style food, or am I looking for a catered event?

  • What time of year would I most benefit from a retreat?

  • Which region of Minnesota is calling to me?

  • Which price range is right for me?

  • Which theme tugs at my curiosity?

If you’d like to read a bit more about what you can expect at every retreat, you may find this link useful: Who Should Attend a Boreal Bliss Yoga Retreat? One thing you’ll always find at our retreats is the soothing and welcoming atmosphere - whether you come solo or with a friend/group, whether you are a beginner or experienced, whether you are young or seasoned - we welcome you wholeheartedly into this community. We also pride ourselves on carefully selecting stunning locations with a beautiful yoga space and lots of options for experiences outdoors. We carefully plan our yoga classes to align with the theme of the retreat and offer a variety of workshops throughout the weekend.

That being said, here’s what we have lined up!

Amanda and the BB gals

Amanda Imes

Amanda seems to be most herself when reading, writing, planning or attending a theme party, traveling with her husband, visiting glaciers, dancing like a crazy woman, laughing, and when outside. She melts (and complains) when the thermostat exceeds 80 degrees and plans her life to avoid large crowds, traffic and big cities. She owns and operates a paddleboard outfitter in Duluth, SUPerior Paddle, with her husband and french bulldog Loki.

She is certified to teach yoga through Core Power yoga.

“As a teacher, I’ve found so many interesting new friends on the mat. Like anyone, I have bad days. Life breaks my heart sometimes. However, I always do my best to bring my best version of myself to class as a teacher. I know that some of my students might be having a difficult week too, and that one hour on the mat might just be the hour that turns their week around. I have yet to make it further than 45 seconds into a class with a bad attitude.

Teaching fulfills me. I leave class feeling joyful. That is what yoga (and writing) do for me - they save my life sometimes. They are my secret lifeline to joy, forgiveness, groundedness, serenity- to the truest version of myself.

Can’t wait to lead you in journaling practice, crafts, silliness, and an epic yoga sculpt dance party.”
