Launching- Live Virtual Classes

Live Zoom Yoga Classes-2.jpeg

Hey Omies,

We’re a few months into this pandemic, and one thing we’ve learned is that we really dig virtual yoga classes via zoom. Why it’s awesome? Let me count the ways.

  1. I don’t have to leave my house/commute/do my hair/wear cute clothes. I can simply flip on the computer and boom, yoga! No commute is huge for those of us living out in the boondocks and/or with busy lives!

  2. I can drink coffee during am yoga, heaven!

  3. I can practice yoga outside if I want, bliss!

  4. I can leave the camera off to take breaks, pet my dog, tend to kiddos, or fall out of poses/try new things without worrying about what I look like!

  5. Unlike pre-recorded classes, we still benefit from interaction with others. Even if it’s a simple hello at check-in or a quick wave at the end of class.

  6. Virtual yoga allows us to connect from wherever we are! I love taking classes from my favorite teachers all over the state!

  7. Even though things are opening back up, practicing at home is a great option for anyone with risks associated with COVID-19. (Amanda here, I am the social distance queen!)

We will continue to build out our library of pre-recorded classes in our online studio. However, we are excited to launch a weekly schedule of live zoom classes. Links for our book club can also be found there.

The schedule and zoom links for yoga classes with the BB Gals are all live on our website here: Virtual Studio. You will find weekly classes happening starting Tuesday at 7am with Stacy, Joella, Bryana, and Amanda!

Also noteworthy: we are launching a YTT this year. If you are interested, check it out here: BB YTT We are extending the application deadline to July 15.

Are you, or someone you know BIPOC and interested in YTT? We are interested in offering you a scholarship. Reach out to us at hello@borealblissyogaretreats.com to inquire.

Amanda Imes

Amanda seems to be most herself when reading, writing, planning or attending a theme party, traveling with her husband, visiting glaciers, dancing like a crazy woman, laughing, and when outside. She melts (and complains) when the thermostat exceeds 80 degrees and plans her life to avoid large crowds, traffic and big cities. She owns and operates a paddleboard outfitter in Duluth, SUPerior Paddle, with her husband and french bulldog Loki.

She is certified to teach yoga through Core Power yoga.

“As a teacher, I’ve found so many interesting new friends on the mat. Like anyone, I have bad days. Life breaks my heart sometimes. However, I always do my best to bring my best version of myself to class as a teacher. I know that some of my students might be having a difficult week too, and that one hour on the mat might just be the hour that turns their week around. I have yet to make it further than 45 seconds into a class with a bad attitude.

Teaching fulfills me. I leave class feeling joyful. That is what yoga (and writing) do for me - they save my life sometimes. They are my secret lifeline to joy, forgiveness, groundedness, serenity- to the truest version of myself.

Can’t wait to lead you in journaling practice, crafts, silliness, and an epic yoga sculpt dance party.”
