No Frills. All Thrills.

Adventure Awaits

A Yoga Retreat for the {aspiring} Outdoor Enthusiast

WE CANNOT WAIT TO GO BACK!

Birchwood is 100% what our dreams are made of…

Do you also dream of no cell service, shooting stars, zipping down a giant water slide in the wilderness, swimming in pristine water, listening to your canoe paddle stroke the water, and yoga on a peaceful deck in the BWCA boreal forest?

Join us!

Boreal means “of the north.” Our name, boreal bliss, captures that intention of being part of all that is the wild north. Whether that’s portaging for the first time, leaving your family for a 4-day excursion at the edge of the BWCA, or leaning into what yoga and nature can do for you, we want to bring you along for a thrilling ride.

Dates & Retreat Leaders

Amanda Imes will be leading the August 16-19, 2021 retreat. Bryana Cook will be leading August 19-22, 2021. Nora Woodworth will be assisting both retreats.  Read more about us here.

If you are into freshwater swimming, hiking to see the sunrise, paddling quietly for hours in the BWCA, leaving your phone behind, muddy feet, admiring nature's creatures, identifying wildflowers, and seeking contentment- this retreat might be for you. Or maybe you aren’t into those things now, but you want to be.

TICKETS

Tickets for these retreats will go on sale promptly at 7:00am on March 7th.  Last year our retreat sold out nearly immediately.  We do know that there is high interest in these retreats once again.  To register for this year’s retreats, you can click the registration button on our website for Adventure Awaits on March 7 at 7:00am.

Virtual Pre/Post Retreat Package, Lodging, Meals, Yoga, Meditation, Hiking, Canoeing, BWCA Day Trip, All Gear for BWCA Day Trip, Rock Climbing, Journaling, Campfire, Relaxation, and Recreation: Sauna, Swimming, Waterslide, Rope Swing

Requirements

You do not need prior yoga/canoeing experience to attend.  An open mind and willingness to learn will be important.  You do need to have the physical ability to sit in a canoe and/or on hard surfaces on the ground outside.

We will be spending all of our days outside rain or shine.  Planning on bugs and bug bites (mosquitoes, flies, etc.) is probably safe to assume. Planning on memories that last a lifetime is also safe to assume! This will require a flexible attitude, and the strength and stamina to enjoy your retreat!

COVID Plans

All COVID health and safety guidelines from the State and CDC will be strictly followed.  Due to frequently changing regulations, a detailed plan will be emailed to all registered participants closer to our retreat date.  Plans will include and not be limited to: wearing masks, frequent hand washing, staying home if sick/exposed, social distancing, and more. Potential to require mouth swab covid test prior to arrival and immediately upon arrival.
